GAMBLE GARDENS
A book branding design project for Gamble Gardens located in Palo Alto, California.
BOOK DESIGN
This design project was created and intended to present the viewer with a calming experience that could mimic a walkthrough of the physical garden. Photography was utilized to present the simplicity of beauty while font and color schemes helped to formulate a more minimalistic page layout.
EXPANSION
While the physical book gives the audience a tour of the rich history of this site, an expansion design project of seed packets as well as perfumes give them an additional way to connect and learn about Gamble Gardens.
PROCESS
Originally designed in a full black and white layout, the addition of subtle green design aspects were intentional and meaningful. The green highlights helped to connect back to the beauty of the garden in present day, while the black and white sections played homage to how the garden had been photographed in newspapers when it was first built. By combining both design choices, the audience is able to get a grasp of both sides.
