AWAKEN
A photography based branding project designed around "Awaken: A Buddhist Monks Journey Towards Enlightenment", an art exhibit held at the Asian Art Museum in San Francisco, California.

Knowing that the main artistic goal revolved around abstract and metaphoric imagery to draw out the emotional response from the audience that I experienced during the exhibit, my initial sketches show the base first stage solutions.

To succeed in drawing out emotion from the audience, metaphoric design ideas that consisted of burning away one's layers of idealistic beauty to discover the inner enlightenment that is highlighted through the exhibit was utilized.

Learning from my previous attempt, I re-configured how my environment was organized to successfully shoot more impressive photographs. By utilizing alcohol, the fire burned through the liquid first before touching the flowers, allowing for a visually compelling outcome of a burning flower while allowing the petals to stay whole.
